Easy Buttercream Icing
Ingredients
- 220 g Butter, softened to room temperature
- 455 g Icing sugar (powdered sugar or confectioners)
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract (you can switch it up with lemon, strawberry, or your favorite flavor!)
Instructions
1. Let’s kick things off by getting all our ingredients in one spot! Grab that soft butter and toss it into a mixing bowl. We want it nice and creamy, so beat it well with a hand mixer or stand mixer until it’s fluffy and smooth.
2. Now, it’s time to sweeten things up! Gradually sift in your icing sugar, mixing as you go. This is where the magic happens keep mixing until everything is well combined and you don’t see any lumps. The smoother, the better!
3. Next, we’re bringing in the flavor! Add in that teaspoon of vanilla extract (or whatever flavoring you’re in the mood for) and give it another good mix. Taste it if you fancy—this is your icing, after all!
4. Once your icing is beautifully blended, it’s ready to bring some joy to your baked creations. You can either spread it on your cakes or cupcakes thickly or use a piping bag for a more beautiful presentation.
5. If you’re not using it right away, don’t worry! Just pop it in the fridge to keep it fresh. When you’re ready to use it again, let it sit at room temperature for a bit and give it a quick stir to get that creamy texture back.
